Beliefs

  • We believe that your career is a micro-business; that this is true whether you work for yourself or for an organisation; that it can and should be managed like any professional services business; that to do so will change the way you think about your work and your life and maximise the chances of achieving what you want; that this is a proactive rather than a reactive process

  • We believe in Maslow's "hierarchy of needs" and in particular his notion of "self actualisation" i.e. that you should "be what you can be"; that this, in practice, is about understanding not just what you can execute well, but also what excites; that these two are not always in tune.

  • We believe that the so called "talent market" is one of the few remaining unreconstructed markets; that within ten years a significant proportion of senior people will be managed by third parties, like us, and that organisations will welcome this; that the more senior you are the more "management" you need and the less you get; that the world of sport and the arts figured this out a long time ago; that new working and networking paradignms in the 21st. Century mean that the businesses associated with people at work are changing, irrevocably.
